We have a new granddaughter!! Her name is Kylie Lois Shore and she was born on August 14, 2005, weighing in at 7 lbs 6 oz! What a precious gift she is to our family!

When I hold her I cannot help but thinking of the song we sing in church that says, "He gives and takes away..." That is the ebb and flow of life, the miracle of a new birth, the tiny fingers and toes, the first cry, the first breath, the joy that fills our hearts as grandparents and the new parents, Jimm and Cami, as they start this next phase of their lives together as a family.

We were able to travel up to Oregon and be here when she arrived. In fact, we got to the hospital first!! How strange is that? The hospital here in Corvallis provides parking areas for RV's, so we just pulled in and hooked up, waiting for the big event!! It didn't take long! Pulling in late Friday night, we welcomed our new little granddaughter on Sunday at 4:41 p.m. Being that we were right here when we got the call, we were able to hold her when she was no more than a half hour old! We weren't the only ones there either! Her other grandparents, an uncle with his girlfriend, and even my parents (Kylie's great-grandparents who were in town with their RV also) were here to see what God had done! The timing was so perfect, even Great-Aunt Karen and her kids were here in Oregon visiting friends and were able to hold the newest addition to our family! What fun it was!!

The biggest surprise was her head full of dark hair! Since both Jimm and Cami were very blond as little children, it will be interesting to see if she loses the dark hair for blonde in a short while or if she will take after her uncle on her mother's side and keep the dark locks! Only time will tell!! She is definitely a combination of her mother and her father--we looked her over carefully, marveling in God's creation. Jimm made the comment after even noticing the inside of her mouth how everything was in the right place and how that could not just happen... he was once again convinced there is a God in heaven!

After traveling quite a distance to be here in Oregon for her birth, it was such a blessing to be parked in the hospital parking lot, being here during her delivery and then the convenience of being able to just walk over to the hospital and see her during the day! It was awesome! We arrived before she did and stayed until she left the hospital with her parents on Tuesday, headed for home and their new life together!
"He gives and takes away..." How true, how true!
We are so thankful for God's gift of life, and as I pray for our new little granddaughter and the life God has given her here on this earth, I know that she is held securely in His hands, that He knew the day she would be born and He knows the plans He has for her future! May it be blessed with God's love as she comes to know Him more and more each day!

I told my mother-in-law she is the most perfect baby I have ever seen!
She said, "Even more perfect than your own children?"
I answered, "Yes! She won't be waking me up at night!"
We will be in Oregon for a few more days, now parked out in Mill City on the property of friends who live here. It's beautiful out here in the country. God is good! We'll visit with the kids a few more times, although it's not quite so convenient now that we're an hour away from them, but the motorcycle will come in handy for those trips back and forth!

Thanks for letting us share this news with all of you!
Try to keep a grandparent quiet! HA HA
Feeling so very blessed,
Jim and Diane
